Gates of Olympus 2500 is a 6×5 pay-anywhere online slot by Pragmatic Play, released September 28, 2026. The latest chapter of the Zeus series pushes the famous multiplier orbs up to ×2,500, adds four Free Spins modes picked at random when the bonus triggers, and raises the ceiling to a ×25,000 max win. The in-game RTP is 96.52% with high volatility, a 27.93% hit frequency and a bonus trigger rate of roughly 1 in 443 spins.
We went through every page of the in-game rules to write this review. Below you can try the free demo, see the full paytable, and find out what each Special Bet and Bonus Buy actually costs and does.
Multiplier orbs reach ×2,500, five times the original game's top orb. Four bonus modes give every round a different character. Super Free Spins guarantee ×10 minimum on every orb. Max win raised to ×25,000, five times the original's ×5,000. Five Special Bets and four Bonus Buy options let you tune risk precisely. Fully mobile-optimised HTML5.
Free Spins are rare, so expect long dry stretches. Base game rarely pays well without multiplier support. Visuals barely change from earlier Gates titles. Super Buy options (×500, ×1,250) are extremely expensive. Some operators run reduced RTP versions at 95.50% or 94.50%.
The free demo loads instantly with no account, deposit or download and starts you with $100,000 in virtual credit. The multiplier orbs, all four bonus modes, Special Bets and Bonus Buy work exactly as in the real-money version, on desktop, iOS Safari and Android Chrome.
Free Spins don't come often, so the demo is the cheapest way to see the bonus round. Try a few Bonus Buys with virtual credits to compare all four modes.

The classic Gates formula of pay-anywhere wins, tumbles and multiplier orbs, now with a ×2,500 orb and four bonus modes.
No paylines. Land 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6×5 grid to win. Pays step up at 10–11 and 12+ symbols.
Winning symbols disappear, the rest fall and new ones drop in. Tumbles continue with no limit until no new wins form.
Orbs land on any reel in base game and bonus. At the end of a tumble sequence all visible orbs are added together and applied to the total win.
4+ Zeus scatters award 15 free spins. One of four modes is picked at random before the round starts. 3+ scatters in the bonus add +5 spins.
Super versions of both modes raise the minimum orb value to ×10, removing the small ×2–×8 orbs entirely.
Pay 1.25×, 2.75× or 5.5× the base bet for a 2× or 8× better chance of the bonus. Ante 3 also boosts odds of the stronger modes.
Every spin is guaranteed at least one orb. Super Spin 2 guarantees a minimum ×25 orb. Free Spins can't trigger in these modes.
Buy any bonus directly: ×100 Free Spins 1, ×250 Free Spins 2, ×500 Super FS 1, ×1,250 Super FS 2.
Our three Gates of Olympus 2500 casino picks carry the full Pragmatic Play lobby, a demo mode and Bonus Buy where local rules allow. Check the RTP line in the game before your first deposit.

Gates of Olympus 2500 is an online slot developed by Pragmatic Play and released on September 28, 2026. It is the newest game in the Gates of Olympus series, which started in February 2021 and quickly became one of Pragmatic's best-known titles. Zeus is back beside the familiar temple grid, the crown, hourglass, ring and chalice still top the paytable, and gemstones fill the lower tiers.
Most of the changes are in the maths. The top multiplier orb now reaches ×2,500 (the original stopped at ×500, the 1000 edition at ×1,000), the bonus round now comes in four different Free Spins modes, picked at random, and the player can shape risk with five Special Bets and four Bonus Buy prices. That makes it the most flexible Gates game so far, and one of the most volatile.
The game uses a standard 6-reel, 5-row grid with 30 symbol positions. There are no paylines: the total count of identical symbols on screen at the end of a spin decides the win. At least 8 matching symbols are needed, with higher pays for 10–11 and 12 or more. Wins from different symbols add together. Hit frequency is 27.93%, so a little more than one spin in four pays something, but many of those hits are small gem wins below the stake.

After every win the paying symbols disappear, everything above drops down, and new symbols fall in from the top. If the new layout forms another win, the process repeats. There is no limit on the number of tumbles, and all wins from the sequence are added to the balance only after the final tumble. This matters because multiplier orbs that land at any point during the sequence count toward the final total.

Multiplier symbols appear on all reels in both the base game and Free Spins. Each orb takes a random value from this ladder: ×2, ×3, ×4, ×5, ×6, ×8, ×10, ×12, ×15, ×20, ×25, ×50, ×100, ×250, ×500, ×1,000, ×1,500, ×2,000 or ×2,500. When the tumble sequence ends, the values of all orbs on screen are added together and the total win of the sequence is multiplied by that sum. Two orbs of ×500 and ×100 on a winning sequence, for example, multiply the win by ×600. The ×1,500, ×2,000 and ×2,500 values are new to the series and are what make the ×25,000 ceiling reachable.

Landing 4 or more Zeus scatters anywhere awards the Free Spins feature with 15 spins. The scatters also pay on their own: ×3 for 4, ×5 for 5 and ×100 for 6 or more. Before the round starts, the game randomly selects which of the four modes you get. Special reels are used throughout the bonus, and 3 or more scatters during any mode add +5 free spins. The whole Free Spins win is credited once the round ends. If the total reaches ×25,000, the round stops immediately and any remaining spins are forfeited.
Free Spins 1: whenever an orb lands and the spin wins, its value is added to a running total multiplier. From then on, every new winning spin with an orb uses the whole running total. Free Spins 2: every orb that lands is added to the total, win or not, and the total multiplier applies to all wins for the rest of the round. Mode 2 builds the multiplier faster, which makes it the stronger of the two.
Super Free Spins 1 and 2 follow the same rules as their standard versions, but the minimum value of any orb is ×10. Small orbs are gone, so the running total climbs much faster. In Super Free Spins 2 every orb counts and each one is worth at least ×10, which makes it the mode behind the game's biggest potential results.
To the left of the reels are two buttons: Buy Feature (4 options) and Special Bets (5 options). The in-game panel lists them as bet multipliers relative to the standard 20× coin bet, which we convert here to the cost per spin at a $1 base stake:
Free Spins cannot be triggered in either Super Spin mode. At the $240 maximum base stake, Super Spin 2 costs $60,000 per spin, which is why the rules panel lists the maximum bet as $60,000.
Where local rules allow it, the Buy Feature sends you straight into the bonus with the mode of your choice: ×100 for Free Spins 1, ×250 for Free Spins 2, ×500 for Super Free Spins 1 and ×1,250 for Super Free Spins 2. At a $1 stake that is $100, $250, $500 or $1,250. Every buy option runs at 96.50% RTP according to the rules panel, so the more expensive modes are not a better deal. You're just putting more money on a single round. Bonus Buy is not offered in the UK and several other regulated markets.

The in-game rules state a theoretical RTP of 96.52% for standard play. Ante Bets 1–3 run at 96.49%, Super Spins 1–2 at 96.50%, and all four Bonus Buy options at 96.50%. Pragmatic Play also supplies operators with reduced versions at 95.50% and 94.50%. Over a long session the difference between 96.52% and 94.50% is about $2 lost per $100 wagered on average, so open the i panel before you deposit anywhere.
Pragmatic rates the game high volatility, and the published numbers agree. The published bonus frequency is about 1 in 443 spins, so dry runs of 400–600 spins are not unusual. The published probability of reaching the ×25,000 cap is around 1 in 13.5 million spins. Most of the return is concentrated in orb-heavy tumbles and in the bonus round; the base game on its own tends to pay back well below stake between those events.
Compared with the original Gates of Olympus (2021, ×500 top orb, ×5,000 max win) and Gates of Olympus 1000 (×1,000 top orb, ×15,000 max win), the 2500 edition keeps the same grid, symbols and tumble rules, and changes almost everything around them. The orb ladder is longer at the top, the bonus has four modes instead of one, and the Special Bets menu goes far beyond the single Ante Bet of earlier titles. If you liked the earlier games, this is the version with the most features. If you prefer a calmer ride, the original is still the gentler choice.
The slot is built in HTML5 and runs in mobile Chrome and Safari without a download. The rules panel, Special Bets menu and Buy Feature are one tap away, and the speed button cycles through normal, quick and turbo spin. On desktop, Space or Enter starts and stops a spin, and holding Space runs turbo spins. Tapping the CREDIT or BET label switches between coin and cash view. 1Win and 1xBet also offer Android apps via direct APK download with the full Pragmatic Play lobby.
Nothing you do on the reels changes the maths, so the real decision is how much to bring and how to spend it.
Base-game budget: with a bonus roughly every 443 spins, bring 300–500× your stake if you want a realistic chance of triggering the bonus naturally. At $0.50/spin that is $150–250.
Ante Bet 1: for 25% more per spin the bonus chance doubles, and RTP only drops to 96.49%. For most players who plan to play until the bonus, it is the most sensible Special Bet.
Bonus Buy budget: hold 3–5× the buy price in reserve. For Free Spins 1 at a $1 stake ($100), that means $300–500 in total. For Super Free Spins 2 the same rule means $3,750–6,250 at $1, so scale your stake down, not your reserve.
Demo first: the demo lets you buy all four modes with virtual credits. Ten buys of each will show you how differently Free Spins 1 and Super Free Spins 2 behave before you spend anything.
Players search for this game under several names: Gates of Olympus 2500x, GoO 2500, Gates Olympus 2500 and Gate of Olympus 2500 all refer to the same Pragmatic Play release. It is easy to mix it up with other games in the series. Gates of Olympus 1000 (2023) has a ×1,000 top orb and a single Free Spins mode, and Gates of Olympus Super Scatter is built around super scatter symbols rather than random bonus modes. This review covers the 2500 edition only, so check the game title in the casino lobby before you start.
Pays as multiples of total bet for 8–9, 10–11 and 12+ matching symbols anywhere on the grid. Wins are then multiplied by any orbs on screen.

Regular symbols: 8–9 → 10–11 → 12+ matching. Scatter: 4 → 5 → 6+. Values from the in-game paytable at $0.20 total bet, shown as multiples of bet.

Bigwinboard rates the 2500 edition as a real improvement for the series, mostly because of the richer bonus round and the bigger win cap. It points out that the base game looks almost the same as earlier titles, so the difference shows up in the features rather than the visuals.
SlotCatalog highlights the combination of pay-anywhere tumbles, orbs worth up to ×2,500 and four distinct bonus variations, and flags the RTP range of 94.50%–96.52% across operator versions. Its demo includes every bonus mode and the Bonus Buy options.
AboutSlots calls it a solid addition to the franchise that polishes rather than redesigns. In its view, the real upgrade is concentrated in the multiplier symbol, which remains the centrepiece of the series and now carries far more weight.
Overall editorial score: 4.4 / 5, based on six criteria.
Four bonus modes, a ×10 minimum in Super modes and +5 spin retriggers. The most varied bonus the series has had.
×2,500 orbs and a ×25,000 cap, five times the original's ceiling. Additive orbs make four-figure multipliers realistic in the bonus.
96.52% is solid for the genre, and every Special Bet and Bonus Buy is at 96.49% or higher. Loses a point for the common 94.50% operator version.
Clean HTML5 build, a readable rules panel and one-tap access to Special Bets and the Buy Feature.
From Ante Bet 1 to a ×1,250 buy, there is an option for every budget and risk level. The menu can feel busy for newcomers.
Rare bonuses and thin base-game returns mean long quiet stretches. Small bankrolls will struggle here.
It takes about three minutes on desktop or mobile.

The free demo runs the full game with virtual credits. It needs no registration, email or payment method, and it starts with a $100,000 virtual balance. If you run it down, reloading the page resets it. Every feature is included: tumbles, the full ×2–×2,500 orb ladder, every bonus mode, every Special Bet and every Bonus Buy option. Since the bonus rarely triggers on its own, the demo is the easiest place to buy each mode a few times and see how differently they play.
Pragmatic Play is one of the largest slot suppliers in the world, founded in 2015 and licensed in multiple regulated markets, including by the UK Gambling Commission and the Gibraltar Gambling Division. Its best-known titles include Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza, The Dog House and Big Bass Bonanza. The Gates series alone includes the original, the 1000 edition, Super Scatter, POP, Dice and this 2500 version. The studio also runs the Drops & Wins network promotion at participating casinos.
The full configuration is 96.52%. Pragmatic Play also offers operators versions at 95.50% and 94.50%. The game looks identical in all three, and the only way to tell is the RTP line on page 5 of the rules panel. At 94.50% you give up about $2 more per $100 wagered than at 96.52%, which adds up quickly on a high-volatility game where you may spin hundreds of times before the bonus. Checking takes a few seconds.
Orbs don't pay anything the moment they land. They sit on the grid until the tumble sequence is over. Then all orb values on screen are added, and the combined win of every tumble in that sequence is multiplied by the sum. So a spin with three small wins totalling 2× bet and orbs of ×10 and ×50 pays 2 × 60 = 120× bet. In the base game the sum resets after each spin; in Free Spins it feeds the running total according to the mode you got.
Normal play suits long sessions on a limited budget. Ante Bet 1 is the easiest upgrade: 25% more cost, double the bonus chance, almost no RTP loss. Ante Bets 2 and 3 push the bonus chance to 8×, and Ante 3 also makes the stronger modes more likely. But at 2.75× and 5.5× cost per spin they drain a bankroll quickly if the bonus doesn't come. Super Spins work quite differently: no bonus round, but a guaranteed orb every spin (minimum ×25 in Super Spin 2). They only make sense as short, high-stake bursts.
To play for real money you need an account at a licensed casino that carries Pragmatic Play. Registration takes a minute or two, the minimum deposit is usually $10–20, and crypto deposits (BTC, ETH, USDT) are accepted at most operators on our list. Once you are in, open the Slots or Pragmatic Play section, search for the game and set a stake between $0.20 and $240. Before the first spin, open the rules panel and check the RTP line. If it doesn't say 96.52%, you are playing a reduced version. Keep in mind that most welcome bonuses exclude Bonus Buy purchases, so read the bonus terms if you plan to use Bonus Buy.
At a $0.50 stake: Free Spins 1 costs $50, Free Spins 2 $125, Super Free Spins 1 $250 and Super Free Spins 2 $625. At $1: $100, $250, $500 and $1,250. All four run at 96.50% RTP, so over many purchases you would expect back about $96.50 per $100 spent, whichever you choose. What changes is the risk per purchase: Free Spins 1 is the cheapest way into the bonus, while Super Free Spins 2 costs 12.5 times more for the same 15 spins with a ×10 minimum on every orb. A single buy of any mode can return a fraction of its cost.
The ×25,000 cap is five times the original game's limit. In practice it would most likely come from a Super Free Spins round where a few high orbs (×500 and above) build the running total early and a strong tumble lands later. The published probability is roughly 1 in 13.5 million spins. For bankroll planning, treat results in the hundreds of times your stake as the realistic upside of a good bonus and anything beyond ×1,000 as rare.
Autoplay opens its own settings menu and stops as soon as you press the AUTOPLAY button again. Most licensed casinos, including the ones on our list, also offer deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion in the account settings. On a high-volatility game with this many expensive bet options, it makes sense to set a deposit limit before you start. Scatter-pays slots with tumbles and random multipliers are everywhere in 2026, and Pragmatic Play itself runs several of the best-known ones: Sweet Bonanza, Starlight Princess and the Gates series. Most of them compete on the size of the top multiplier. Gates of Olympus 2500 does that too, but it also lets you decide how the bonus behaves, with four bonus modes, three Ante Bets, two Super Spin modes and four buy prices in one game. Within its own family it sits at the top end: more volatile than the original and the 1000 edition, with a ceiling five times higher than the first game. If you liked the earlier Gates games and want more control and a bigger ceiling, this is the one to try. If you want a steadier session, stick with the original.
Use the demo to buy each bonus mode a handful of times so you understand what a normal result looks like. If you play for the natural bonus, Ante Bet 1 is almost always better value than plain spins. Keep Bonus Buy reserves at 3–5× the price, and lower your stake rather than your reserve when you move up to the Super modes. Set a stop-loss and a win target before you start, and stick to both.

Of all the Gates games, this one has the most going on under the hood. That's its strength, and it's also the catch. It keeps everything that worked before (pay anywhere, tumbles, Zeus throwing orbs) and piles a lot on top: four bonus modes, extra bet options and four ways to buy the bonus.
The mode I find most interesting is Free Spins 2. Every orb counts toward the running total, win or not, which means the multiplier builds on dead spins too. Combined with the ×10 floor in the Super version, it changes the rhythm of the bonus completely compared with the original game.
What I like: the Special Bets are transparent. Every option is listed with its exact cost and RTP in the rules panel, and none drops below 96.49%. Ante Bet 1 in particular is a rare case of an upgrade that is close to free in RTP terms.
What to watch out for: a bonus rate of about 1 in 443 spins is harsh. The base game will test your patience, and the Super Buy prices (×500 and ×1,250) can empty a bankroll in two purchases. And as with most Pragmatic games, check the RTP before you deposit. The 94.50% version looks exactly the same.
This review represents editorial opinion based on the published game rules and data. It is not a guarantee of outcomes. Slot results are random by design.
Free demo or real money: same orbs, same four bonus modes, same ×25,000 potential.
